Got Acne? Try Sulfur Soap

Ingredients:

While the ingredients vary by manufacturer, most Sulfur Soaps contain only 10 percent Sulfur, with the rest of the bar being made up a neutral soap base and a bit of fragrance. Sulfur soap for severe acne often contains Salicylic Acid, a beta-hydroxyl compound found in most anti-acne cleansers you see at the drug store.

Function:

The antibacterial and antiseptic properties of the soap slough away dead skin cells, oil and dirt leaving fresh glowing skin underneath. Removing those unwanted elements prevents breakouts from occurring in the future.

Drawbacks:

Because its primary function is exfoliation, Sulfur soap can be incredibly drying if used every
day. Depending on your skin type, it’s best to use the product 2-3 times a week, as daily use could leave you with dry-scaly skin. If you use it and start to notice exceptional dryness and burning, discontinue use and apply moisturizer to restore your skins natural balance.
